Desired Skills
 Proactive monitoring of oracle database server
o OEM – Grid-control
o TOAD(QUEST)
 Database backup & recovery
o Oracle RMAN
o TSM / Veritas
 Connectivity
o Oracle OID
o Oracle-clients (ODBC/JDBC)
 Database health check, housekeeping
 Experience on Performance analysis, tuning using:
o Performance Tuning-Pack
o TKPROF/EXPLAIN PLAN
o AWR/ADM report/tool
 Good troubleshooting skills is must
 Must be a production support DBA
 Experience on High Availability administration
o RAC, Oracle DataGaurd & Stand-by
 Working Knowledge of UNIX servers (Redhat, Solaris, AIX)
o Good in Unix commands, Editors & shell script
 Experienced on Oracle9i,10g, 11g Enterprise-edition
 Knowledge/experience with DR (Disaster Recovery) drill
 Experience on database migrations, upgradation and patching
 Capable to evaluate/suggest database tools based on customer need
 Good Knowledge on Incidents/Request and Change management process

Optional Skills
 PL/SQL & SQL programming
 Security management
o Access control
o SOX Recertification
 Knowledge/experience on FOGLIGHT, Light Speed & IDERA audit tool
 Oracle partitioning skills & SAP database

Qualifications
 Graduate in any discipline
 Oracle DBA certification would be an added advantage
