Job Description
The Database Administrator”s role is to monitor, maintain, and performance tune production Oracle and MS SQL databases utilizing data center enterprise monitoring tools, ensuring data availability meets defined SLAs. This individuals main focus is +monitoring and resolving service desk tickets and workflows within the established SLAs for ticket acknowledgement and resolution.
Responsibilities
Operational Management
* Monitor and resolve Database IT Service Desk tickets within established SLAs.
* Ensure database availability meets established operational level agreements.
* Utilize data center enterprise monitoring tools to monitor and resolve database performance and availability issues.
* Acknowledge and Address database alerts raised by enterprise monitoring tools within established SLAs
* Adhere to documented change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
* Monitor daily and weekly backup processes and resolve any failures.
* Monitor database performance, recommend and implement efficiency improvements.
* Adhere to documented change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
* Utilize data center standard toolset to monitor and report standard database key performance indicators and database utilization metrics.
* Participate in 24×7 On call rotation
