Job Title: Sun Solaris Administrator

Main Responsibilities – Additional information
• Incident / Problem Management – Using the service management system (Remedy), provide technical expertise for hardware and software problem diagnosis ensuring that all issues are resolved professionally and with minimal operational impact.
• Support and maintenance of all Solaris servers, supporting service level agreements.
• Log calls with the vendor when required for software and hardware issues, making arrangements for onsite hardware visits.
• Respond to Remedy requests.
• Respond to other ad-hoc requests for support (e.g. developer support, telephone queries and ad-hoc email requests).
• Identify, recommend and implement improvements to processes.
• Monitor the daily checks webpage at least once per day and remediate any highlighted issues.
• Ensure that all changes are performed professionally, in the change management system and implemented with minimal impact to operational systems.
• Raise and deliver Remedy changes.
• Understand and apply UNIX security policies in accordance with published guidelines.
• Deployment of patches and packages.
