SQL Server Database Administrator

ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS:
* Install, configure and maintain SQL server databases
* Perform database backups and refreshes
* Prepare capacity planning and sizing
* Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
* Plan, implement and maintain security at the database level
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* 5+ years DBA experience with Microsoft SQL server 2000.
Some experience will SQL Server 2005 is also required.
* Expert understanding of the SQL Server architecture administration and security.
* Understanding of Windows Server operation systems.
* Solid grasp of advanced SQL query techniques in addition to experience with automating
export/import tasks using DTS/SSIS.
* Expertise with configuring, implementing and supporting high availability SQL Server.
* Expert in Stored Procedures and SQL Coding.
* Expert in query, index and Database IO performance tuning.
* Expert understanding of Database design principals.
* Understand the concepts of current hardware systems, RAID and SAN, NAS commonly
used in fault tolerant production environments.
* Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues.
* Ability to manage all database maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing,
integrity and consistency checks, etc.
* Experience supporting SQL Reporting Services and standard reporting tools.
* Experience running and supporting large databases under high transaction rates.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Experience with clusters, replication and logshipping
* Experience working with SQL server 2005.
