Designation : Lead Engineer – Hyderabad – Oracle_ERP_Apps_DBA_(R12_11gRAC/11i)

GE Industrial, India Innovation Center, located in Hyderabad and Bangalore, is a dedicated engineering design and IT development center for the global GE Industrial business. IIC is one of GE’s largest design and development hubs for Engineering and Information Technology worldwide, employing ~1000 engineers, MBA’s and IT professionals from the best institutes across the country. Over the last several years, IIC has submitted for several innovation disclosures and has numerous patents granted in its favor.

Role Summary

Provide strategic technical direction along with design, planning, monitoring & execution skills in projects (APPS DBA Projects) and regular operations work in Sysadmin domain. Serve as technology expert in Oracle APPS DBA area.

Essential Responsibilities.

Will report to Oracle ERP Sysadmin Team Leader GE A & L India.

Own complete Technical Solutions from End to End like Design, Build, Test, documentation and post go-live support for Apps DBA related projects. Collaborate with both global & India teams to develop robust requirements and processes in a boundary-less manner.

Should be able to Translate strategy (Ex: RTS Reduction etc…) into specific goals and objectives, proactively monitor new technology, tech stack patches released by Oracle and provide recommendations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Hands on with Oracle Applications 11i, R12 on RAC, OTM, DEMANTRA, APCC (OBIEE)

Database Skills:

11g Database on RAC

Architecture of Oracle Databases like memory structures, back ground processes, physical & logical

database structures.

Identify Database performance issues and fix.

Tune SQL queries

Working knowledge in database upgrade

Backup & Recovery Procedures including RMAN (Export & Import also)

Application System Administrator Skills:

Installing & upgrading R12 EBS, OTM, DEMANTRA, APCC.

Application Patching in R12 RAC environment.

Application EBS Cloning in R12 RAC environment.

Good working knowledge with Web logic server.

OTM cloning.

Trouble shooting concurrent managers & tuning technics

Trouble shooting web services

Trouble shooting long running jobs & fixing issues with locks at different levels.

Configuring & trouble shooting Notification Mailer.

Configuring & trouble shooting Printers at OS & Application level.

Unix Shell scripting.

Code Migration from Instance to Instance.

Shared APPL TOP Configuration.

SSO setup.

Sound working knowledge with Linux & Solaris OS

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, or related or equivalent experience.

Prior experience with large transactional distributed systems.

Strong skills in Oracle 9i and 11g databases on RAC. Shell Scripting, Sql and all other Sysadmin related activities etc.

Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

Total 5 plus years of experience with sound knowledge in supporting Oracle ERP Applications 11i & R12 instances with 9i & 11g on RAC databases.

Good written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to multitask, self-starter, organized, and motivated.

Working in different shifts supporting Global Teams & providing support for critical 24×7 production environments.
