Description of Roles and Responsibilities:
The Remedy Systems Administrator will be responsible for operating components of highly available, high performance systems consisting of many integrated and distributed processes. The job functions involve end-to-end support of the BMC Remedy ITSM workflow function.
The candidate will work in a controlled change and release management environment. Being part of a rotating on-call support process may be required as well. The candidate will work in a team alongside experienced BMC Remedy developers and architects. Honeywell uses out of the box Remedy applications which have multiple integrations to other enterprise systems that support both internal and external customers. Responsibilities include:
* Landscape design, configuration, version and patch management, capacity testing and support
* Installation, implementation and support of application servers, application services, mid-tier, email engine, web applications and integrations
* Research and Development of Optimal System Configurations and assist team with debugging OS and application and tuning issues.
* Monitor Events and Alerts and Work with Team and Vendor to resolve system issues. Make recommendations about system monitoring, alert levels and thresholds and system monitored metrics.
* Take on advanced responsibilities relating to the scalability, strategy and vision of the Remedy systems that support Honeywell”s core business.
* Handling outages and making sure the Remedy system is up and running
* Working on Incident & Service requests from the requester globally
* Configuring the Remedy ITSM applications as requested
* Analyzing the incidents and re-assigning them as appropriate
* Generating reports and metrics for Remedy Admin support process like MTTR, SLA compliance, Aging report etcESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in a large company as a Remedy Systems Administrator
* Good communication skills and experience in customer handling over mails & phone
* Experience operating Clustered, Load Balanced and virtualized environments with applications that run on Oracle 9i and 10G SR2 databases
* Adept in administrating a variety of systems including Windows 2003, HP-UX 11i, AIX\
* Experienced in shell/bash/perl/dos/java scripting
* Experience with the Sun & IBM JVM, advanced knowlege of Apache, Tomcat, and JBoss
* Integration experience with SAP, Active Directory (LDAP) and telephony environments.
* ITIL Foundation Certification
* Remedy ITSM 7.* Applications
* Remedy Mid-tier platform
* Remedy ARS
* Remedy Plug-ins
* Remedy Object Identification
