Software Engineer/Support Engineer

Job Description The incumbent will work productively in a dynamic
deadline-driven environment, independently and as part of a team.

• The individual will manage Wise Men Client’s production
environment, monitor Applications Integration systems, provide support
and resolve issues.

• The SE will become proficient in the use of the software application
such that they can determine correct behavior and identify any bugs in
the way the software application works.

• The SE will also need to understand the Client’s hardware
environment and applications and be proficient in how to determine and
verify configurations.

• The SE will participate in a weekly schedule to assist in providing 24x7x365 support.

• The incumbent shall require to perform development activities such
as scripting, configuration changes, code fixes, and add additional
features.

• The SE should be willing to travel abroad to Wise Men Client
locations for development/support and Knowledge Transfer activities when
needed.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of overall technology experience of which 2+ years in support of enterprise applications.

• Familiarity in Production Support activities such as
Outage/Incident, Regular issues, Onsite/ Offshore coordination workflow,
Documentation, Shift handover process

• Ability to clearly document and verbally explain an issue.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage issue/resolution at both the ‘big picture’ and detail level

• Experience in working with multiple stakeholders in an organization and handle their support related queries/ issues.

Technical Skill Requirements:

Required:Basic knowledge in relational databases (Oracle) and SQL

1. Knowledge in Unix , Shell/ Shell Scripts.

2. Java or JCAPS (at least two years experience)

Desired:Client based Products/Tools– Toad/Golden, SmartFTP/FileZilla, PuTTy, UltraEdit.
