Job Description:
Good knowledge on SQL Server 2005 & 2008 database architect
In-depth knowledge of T-SQL
Responsible for supporting the SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security Duties and  Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning
To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include roll out and upgrades
Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs
Should have hands on Data Migration
Good Replication knowledge
Should have worked on normalization , Logical and physical data models
Scheduling backup and Restoration of backups
Maintenance of daily and monthly backup schedulers
Monitoring and performance tuning of database servers
Query/Transaction monitoring
Transaction log/ Trace file monitoring
Lock/Deadlock monitoring
Memory and Cache monitoring
Capacity planning / Trend analysis and Recommendation
