Job Requirements:Brief description about the Profile:

In Depth Knowledge of L1 & L2 Activities of SQL Server 2005 & 2008
•Monitor Server availability
•Database Availability Monitoring and health check
•Resolving connectivity issues
•Batch job scheduling and monitoring
•Report generation
•User-id creation/deletion
•Security Management
•DB User Administration
•Backup Design & Management
•Performance Tuning on Database/System
•Patch Management
•Patch/upgrade Management
•Day to Day Troubleshooting
•Space/device Management

Desirable, but not mandatory skillsets:

Knowledge of High Availability options like Clustering, Log shipping & Database Mirroring
•Troubleshooting & Maintenance of SQL Server on Cluster Environment
•SQL server Installation on Clusters
•Setup, maintenance & troubleshooting of Log shipping
•Setup, maintenance & troubleshooting of Database Mirroring.

Flexibility to work in Nightshifts.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently without supervision
Taking ownership of the issues and resolving them
Proactively articulate new ideas and not simply remain a follower
